What is the magnetic principle behind magnetic therapy? What makes magnets affective when treating pain?

- I dont know myself, but many of the companies that sell those products simply claim that its a secret patent so they dont have to explain themselves. The q-ray ionized bracelet for example. Its only effect is probably the placebo effect.
- The principle is that if the makers of the products can make you hope or believe it will help you, they can get your money. A few people who have pain that is not physical but psychological may benefit because they believe they will be helped. Magnets do not relieve pain, nor do they purify water, but if the sellers make the public think the devices work, they can make lots of money before people catch on to the hoax.
